"Breathtaking sparkles, glimmering fractions. What melodical madness causes such satisfaction?"

We’re back with our second monthly selection of rare melodical gems. February’s birthstone is Amethyst. For all you heavy drinkers, pay attention! This violet variety of quartz means ‘not intoxicated’ in Ancient Greek. People believed that the stone protects its owner from drunkenness. Hope you enjoy this one as well and spread some love if you do. Leave a nice comment, tell your friends or music peers about this mix.

    A Note From Anthony Valadez:
“The inspiration for the mix simply came down to Roy Ayer’s influence as an artist and creative figure. His music has been recycled and embraced by various generations and to me that only demonstrates how ahead of his time this brother really is/was. This is something I have always known but it really struck me when I put the needle on the record in creating this mix.

Roy Ayers has transcended jazz, soul, funk and disco. He has impacted music for many generations to come through hip hop, house and neo soul. Through the 70’s to present day, Mr. Ayers has captured happiness, soul and uplifting messages through his music. “

  11. "

Nice tasteful slow pace mix of a lot of funky soul jams. LoK’s description of the mix below.

Got to love it when a “blank” CD fell out of a pile of stuff and it turned out to be an old Soul/Rare Groove set of mine from god knows when! Definately pre-serato so all from vinyl, a couple of re-issues - i’m not gonna front, there is some expensive records in there alongside some “cheap but goodies”! For instance first track i have a real one and that still goes for about £100 if you can find it!
