【Bass】Ac Slater - Little Chronic【Download】
AC Slater returns to Trouble & Bass with this two song EP including two heavy remixes from Drop The Lime and RacknRuin. You may remember AC’s last stomping T&B release, the Brooklyn anthem “Big Brooklyn Bass” that we released last fall, which was basically AC’s farewell to NYC right before moving to sunny Los Angeles in the beginning of 2012. After lots of time on the road on a 3 week tour in Australia, followed by a tour with Feed Me and then heading straight to Ultra Music Week with T&B crew, AC stopped for a minute to deliver this EP featuring his trade mark sound of party rockin bass-heavy electro house. The title track “Sidewinder”, named after AC’s favorite heavy artillery missile matches the sound he’s bringing perfectly; Long build ups, heavy low end and explosive drops. On “Little Chronic”, AC delves into new territory blending the worlds of heavy bass club music with the ideals of plenty of partygoers; that all everyone wants to do is smoke a little chronic. Why not take care of both? Flick the lighter, inhale, smoke up and get down. Aside from its vocal connotation “Little Chronic” has that electro jump up feel mixed with an insane frantic synth and AC’s classic rave piano stabs and rumbling bass line.
On Remix duties we have T&B head honcho Drop The Lime and UK artist RacknRuin from Black Butter Records. Drop The Lime remixes “Sidewinder” and takes us back to his older style of early T&B recordings ala his “Bricks” days. DTL conjures up a loopin western guitar lick from the dead to bring forth this monster that dips and dives in between classic dubstep kicks and snares mixed with the stuttering bassline from the “Sidewinder” original. A few healthy build ups and bassline change ups and this song is one of the hardest tunes out there! RacknRuin takes a hit from that “Little Chronic” flipping into a UK sound, giving the tune more of a shuffle and a straight up 4x4 bassline riddim complete with air horns and a bassline reminiscent from the niche bassline days.
